Job Opportunity: Legal Support – Claims Processing

Compensation: $35 - $55 per hour, depending on previous experience

Location: Onsite in Santa Fe, New Mexico

Contract Status/Length: Contingent upon award, 6-12 months, with opportunity to extend.

Company: The McGregor Group (TMG). TMG is looking for legal support to support the Hermits Peak/Calf Canyon Claims Processing Office in Santa Fe, NM. The Hermits Peak/Calf Canyon Claims Office is responsible for compensating impacted individuals and entities who had damages from the Hermit's Peak and Calf Canyon Fires in New Mexico. The Claims Office is seeking attorney liaisons/legal support.

TMG is seeking applicants who are detail-oriented individuals with excellent speaking and writing skills who have experience working with lawyers. Candidates can be from anywhere in the U.S., but they must be willing to relocate to New Mexico. The role involves a mix of office-based and remote work as per project needs.

Essential Functions:

· Manage and organize case files

· Coordinate with clients and other legal professionals

· Provide general administrative support to attorneys

· Communicate directly with attorneys representing claimants.

· Draft and submit requests for information to attorney-represented claimants.

· Coordinate and support weekly meetings with attorneys representing claimants.

Minimum Qualifications:

· High school diploma

· Experience in claim/case processing roles including customer service, data entry, reviewing, and evaluating various types of disaster related losses.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Proficiency with legal software and case management tools

· Experience working with attorney firms

· Ability to meet the necessary qualifications and suitability requirements to obtain and maintain a FEMA badge, which may include background checks and security clearances as required by FEMA.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree

· Paralegal degree or advanced legal degree
